Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults follow evenings of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and officials were bracing for further attacks.
